Foundations of Environmental Medicine
VIRTUAL WORKSHOP – 8 CME until May 2027
We are excited to offer our Foundations of Environmental Medicine. This online workshop teaches practitioner the rich history of Environmental Medicine, how to complete a comprehensive Environmental History, and how to address some of the most common environmental exposures, including… Mold, Mycotoxins, Heavy Metals, Chemicals, EMF’s, Microplastics, PFAS/BPA, Glyphosate and so much more!
This series workshop will serve as the first Module on our new Pathway to Fellowship which practitioners can sign-up after the workshop is completed to progress to obtain Fellow status as recognized by the American Academy of Environmental Medicine.
Agenda
AAEM and Environmental Medicine History- Dr. Medeya Tsnobiladze ND
The AAEM was founded in 1965. Inspired by the pioneering research of Dr. Theron Randolph, the organization was established to investigate how environmental exposures—such as chemicals in food, air, and water—directly impact human health. This lecture will discuss the rich history of the AAEM and all that it has been and is evolving into.
Core Concepts of Environmental Medicine- Dr. Erin Van Veldhuizen FNP, DC, MSN, DACNB, DCBCN, DCN, CCCN, CCTT
Learn what a comprehensive Environmental Medicine History is, the foundations of Total Load Theory, Energy Economics, and how to do a foundational Environmental Medicine evaluation.
Environmental Exposures- Dr. Lyn Patrick ND
What truly separates an Environmental Medicine expert from any other specialty is the concept of exposure to toxicants in our environment and how it is the sum of these exposures and not just one toxic exposure that leads to the inability of our bodies to tolerate most exposures and therefore creating chronic inflammation and autoimmunity. This lecture will describe many of those exposures and the body systems they affect.
Treatment of Environmentally Induced Illnesses- Dr. Jeffrey Morrison MD
Learn how specific treatments to lower the body’s total load and improve its ability to remove the everyday exposures that inhibit the body to function at an optimal level, increase inflammation, and lead to chronic disease. These innovative treatments are an overview of what types of treatments taught in more depth during Fellowship training.
