Membership Categories


Active Member (Physicians)

a) Those members who have earned a recognized Doctorate Degree that qualifies the holder for a license to practice in the field of medicine, which is issued by an accredited state board(s), and who possess such a current valid licences, issued by the applicable state licensing authority. Such Doctorate Degrees would include a Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, or their international equivalents, or Naturopathic Doctor, Doctor of Chiropractic, Doctor of Dentistry, Doctor of Pharmacy; b) other clinicians, namely Advance Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants; and other clinicians who meet requirements for individual active membership as may be imposed by the Board of Directors with consultation of the Credentials Committee of the Academy from time to time.

Annual Dues: $395.00

Fellow Member

Those active members who hold a doctorate in a healthcare profession, upon request, after successful completion of the requirements as determined by the Board of Directors, are accorded this title in recognition of their contribution to the Academy by action of the Board of Directors.

Affiliate Member

Those members who hold one of the following verifiable advanced professional degrees from an accredited educational institution including but not limited to: Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, Doctors of Optometry or Audiology, Doctors of Nursing, Doctors of Science, Masters of Psychology and Social Work, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurse, Graduate Level Dietitian and Nutritionist, and other professionals with advanced degrees having a clinical component, and who meet any additional requirements for membership as may be imposed by the Board of Directors from time to time.

Annual Dues: $285.00

Community Member

Those community individuals and organizations interested in the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and Environmental Medicine principles, concepts and practices, and that meet any additional requirements for membership as may be imposed by the Board of Directors from time to time.

Annual Dues: $285.00

Corporate Member

Those organizations, qualified by the Board, that are interested in and supportive of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and Environmental Medicine principles, concepts and practices, and which meet any additional requirements of membership as may be imposed by the Board of Directors from time to time.

Annual Dues: $1,000.00

Life Member

Those members who, upon request, after payment in lump sum of an amount equal to 15 times the amount of regular dues for that category of membership assessed in the year the request is made, are accorded the title of "Life Member" in the membership category by action of the Board of Directors.

Student/Resident Member

Those members currently enrolled in an accredited medical educational institution.

Annual Dues: $95.00

In-Active Member

Those previously active members who are incapacitated by reason of illness, accident, or infirmity who are totally retired from the active pursuit of their regular course of work. Election to inactive membership shall be for a maximum of one year, unless the member is totally incapacitated. However, an inactive member may be re-elected to this classification annually by the Board of Directors.

Emeritus

Those members having reached the calendar age of 65 years, and having retired from the active pursuit of their regular course of work, may upon request, be granted Emeritus status by action of the Board of Directors.

Honorary Member

Those persons or entities interested in furthering the purposes and goals of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and who have donated the sum of $1,000 or more (or equivalent in property) to the Educational Fund of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. These members are elected to Honorary Member status for one year after each donation, by action of the Board of Directors.
